SpamPal Manual: Configuring

SpamPal is very configurable but the default settings should suit most user's needs. If however you need to change the default settings, you can tune SpamPal using the Options panel, in many different ways.

6. Logging

This enables you to create a log file of what happens while your email program, SpamPal and your ISP's server all talk to each other, in the process of checking your mail for spam.

The main aim of this screen, is to help SpamPal Support find any problems you may be having, while
all the email processing takes place and therefore help fix future versions of SpamPal.

The location of log.txt is normally located here on the application version (non-service version):-

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\$account$\Application Data\SpamPal\
Windows 2k: C:\Documents and Settings\$account$\Application Data\SpamPal\
Windows NT: C:\WinNT\Profiles\$account$\Application Data\SpamPal\plugins\
Windows 98: C:\Windows\Application Data\SpamPal\
Windows 95: C:\Program Files\Spampal\config\

The location of log.txt is normally located here on the service version:-

Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data\SpamPal\
Windows 2k: C:\Documents and Settings\LocalService\Application Data\SpamPal\

Note 1: If you cannot find the folder under Windows XP..

Under XP you may need to tell XP to show you hidden files, to enable you to search folders and view with explorer, so follow this page(s):
